Drawing Santa Claus full-body with gifts is a great way to get into the holiday spirit. Whether you're an aspiring artist or simply want to create a unique Christmas card for a particular someone, these simple steps will walk you through the process, making it simple and enjoyable.

A big part of the thrill of the holiday season is looking forward to Santa Claus's gifts, who is a cherished character for children worldwide.

Santa Claus is said to be a cheerful man who resides at the North Pole. Rudolph, his favorite reindeer, is in charge of his team of reindeer. Santa delivers gifts to well-behaving kids on Christmas Eve by flying his sleigh across the globe. With a large smile on his face, and his well-known laugh: "Ho-ho-ho!"

As much as that sweet laugh brings joy to both kids and adults, we created a full guide on how to draw Santa's laugh for you to learn and to bring the joyful spirit of the holidays anywhere with you.

Santa knows how to distribute gifts in his own unique way. He frequently descends chimneys by sliding, and occasionally he opens doors with a magical key. He leaves gifts for the kids in various vibrant stockings placed on the wall or beside the fireplace. He also provides treats for the kids to enjoy, such as fruit, almonds, and candy canes.

Most kids are aware that being good all year long is the greatest way to receive gifts from Santa. Santa records every good and bad thing the kids do, so the kids that behave really well and with great kindness will receive the best Christmas presents.

Giving and kindness towards others is the essential essence of Christmas, even though Santa's gifts are a nice surprise. For kids, Santa is a great illustration of how kindness and generosity can make others happy.

For kids, Santa is a fantastical character who embodies the joy of the holiday season. He serves as a reminder to children to be kind, and considerate of others.

So, in celebration of this fun, fantastic time, grab your supplies, and let’s start drawing.

You will need:

1-2B pencil for the final sketch,

2-HB pencil for the initial sketch

3-An eraser to remove the initial sketch.

Step 1: Draw the Circle and Divide It into Quarters

Step 1: Draw the Circle and Divide It into Quarters
Step 1 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts

To begin drawing Santa, draw a large circle in the center of your paper. This circle will be the basis for Santa's body.

Next, divide the circle into quarters by drawing a vertical and horizontal line through the circle's center. These lines will help you position Santa's facial features and clothing accurately.

Step 2: Sketch the Beard

Step 2: Sketch the Beard
Step 2 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts

To draw the beard, begin with a semicircle from one side of the face to the other.

Step 3:  Sketch the Torso

Step 3: Sketch the Torso
Step 3 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts

Draw another circle, slightly oval, just underneath the first one you drew earlier. Once that’s done, draw a slightly curved vertical line in the middle; this will help us with the body sketch later on. Add two horizontal stripes in the lower part of the belt.

Step 4: Draw the Pants

Step 4: Draw the Pants
Step 4 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts

Draw two long, curved lines extending from Santa's coat's bottom to just above his knees using your reference image as a guide. These lines should be thicker at the top and gradually taper as

they reach the knee.

Be sure to keep the lines symmetrical and evenly spaced. Once you have drawn the first leg lines, do the same for the other, then you can move on to the next step.

Step 5: Add the Fluffy Lower Part of the Pants, and Sketch the Arm Lines

Step 5: Add the Fluffy Lower Part of the Pants, and Sketch the Arm Lines
Step 5 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts

Start by sketching two curved lines extending downward from the pants' bottom. These lines should be more comprehensive and taper off at the bottom.

For the arms, draw a straight line on one side of the body, starting at the shoulder and extending outwards. On the other side, draw a curved line starting at the shoulder and extending outwards, as if Santa is holding a bag behind his back.

Step 6: Outline the Sleeves, then Add the Shoes

Step 6: Outline the Sleeves, then Add the Shoes
Step 6 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts

Starting from the shoulder line, draw a curved line that extends downward to create the top part of the sleeve.

Once that's done,  draw the forearm section, and roughly shape the boots.

Always go back to the sketch above for reference.

Step 7: Draw the Lower Part of the Sleeves

Step 7: Draw the Lower Part of the Sleeves
Step 7 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts

Draw another curved line that extends outward from the first line to create the bottom part of the sleeve. Connect the two lines with a short, curved line to create the cuff of the sleeve.

Repeat this process for the other arm. Make sure that the sleeves are proportionate to the rest of Santa's body and that they flow naturally into the coat.

Step 8: Draw the Eyes and Eyebrows

Step 8: Draw the Eyes and Eyebrows
Step  8 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts

Draw a short line on each side of the face for the eyes on the horizontal line. Make sure to add a little crease or wrinkle below the eye to give it a more realistic look.

Step 9: Draw the Nose

Step 9: Draw the Nose
Step 9 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts

With the basic outline of Santa's face in place, it's time to add some details. Refer to your reference image as a guide. Start by drawing Santa's nose at the intersection of the horizontal and vertical lines.

You can draw a round or slightly pointed nose, starting by drawing three circles, the middle one being the biggest. Make sure to extend the line on the upper part of the nose upwards, then finish the drawing.

Step 10: Add the Mustache

Step 10: Add the Mustache
Step 10 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts

Next, add Santa's bushy mustache just below the nose. The mustache should extend outward from the sides of the nose.

Then, draw Santa's open laughing mouth, making it wide and curved upward at the corners to express joy. Position the mouth below the mustache, and add a slight curve to the upper lip to emphasize the laughter.

Once you're satisfied with the placement and shape of Santa's facial features, you're ready to move on to the next step.

Step 11: Draw the Eyebrows

Step 13 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts

Draw a small circle for the pom-pom at the top of the hat and add a short, curved line around it.

Draw the fluffy white trim of Santa's hat next. This should be a series of short, curved lines extending upward and downwards from the hat's base to resemble soft, fluffy fur.

Finally, add shading to the hat and beard to give the drawing depth and dimension. Darken areas in shadow and use lighter strokes for highlights and texture.

Step 14: Outline Santa’s Hands

Step 14: Outline Santa’s Hands

On the end of Santa’s sleeves, draw two medium shapes for the hands in the gloves.

We will be detailing them later on.

Step 19 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts

Draw Santa's iconic beard using your reference image as a series of flowing, curving lines extending from his cheeks and chin.

Start with one side of Santa's face, using long, flowing lines to create the appearance of soft, fluffy hair that extends down to Santa's chest.

Repeat the process on the other side, making sure the beard is symmetrical and complements the shape of Santa's face. Adjust the size and shape of the lines as needed to create a natural-looking beard.

Step 20: Draw the Belt

Step 20: Draw the Belt
Step 20 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts

Draw the belt around Santa's waist, ensuring it sits snugly against the coat. Draw a rectangle for the buckle, then add small details, just like in the sketch above, to make it look more realistic.

Step 23 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts

Starting with the hand holding the gift bag, with the help of the guide sketch, draw a hand drawing in a fist. Make sure to draw four short stripes to depict the fingers.

Once that’s done, remove the sketch lines used in both the hand drawing and the upper part of Santa’s body.

Steps 24 & 25: Draw Santa’s Other Hand, then Remove the Sketch Guidelines

Step 24: Draw Santa’s Other Hand
Step 24 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts
Step 25: Remove the Sketch Guidelines
Step 25 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts

Start by sketching the basic shape of the second hand with the fingers extended.

Then, add details such as the fingers, following the guide on the side. Take your time to make sure the hand looks proportional to the rest of the drawing. Position the hand correctly relative to the sleeves of the coat.

Once you’re satisfied with the result, remove the sketch guidelines using a clean eraser.

Step 26: Adding the Flowy Bottom of the Coat

Step 26: Adding the Flowy Bottom of the Coat
Step 26 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts

To create the flowy bottom of Santa's coat, draw two curved lines extending downward and outward from the bottom of the torso circle.

The lines should follow the general shape of the coat and flare out slightly at the bottom to create a billowy effect. The curve of the lines should be gentle and smooth, with no sharp angles or sudden changes in direction. Make sure that the bottom edge is slightly thick so that it resembles the real Santa’s outfit.

The goal is to create a flowing, graceful shape that captures the feeling of Santa's iconic coat. Take your time and experiment with different curves and shapes until you find the perfect look for your drawing.

Step 27: Outline Santa’s Pant’s

Step 27: Outline Santa’s Pant’s
Step 27 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts

We’re coming close to finishing the Santa Claus drawing. Using the same 2B pencil, outline the pants and get ready for the final touches.

Steps 28 & 29: Outline Santa’s Boots, then Remove the Sketch

Step 28: Outline Santa’s Boots
Step 28 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts
Step 29: Remove the Sketch
Step 29 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts

As you have already finished drawing Santa’s boots, it’s time to outline them. Make sure to do it as precisely as you can; it’s what keeps him warm as he delivers the amazing Santa gifts we receive every year!

Once that’s done, grab your eraser and remove the remaining sketch lines.

Step 30: Add Buttons to Santa’s Coat

Step 30: Add Buttons to Santa’s Coat
Step 30 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts

You can start by lightly sketching circles in the appropriate places on the coat to draw the buttons. Then, darken the circles and add a small dot in the center of each to create the button's appearance.

Don’t forget to add the small detail of the bag part being held by Santa.

Step 31: Draw a Gift Box

Step 31: Draw a Gift Box
Step 31 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts

To begin, start by drawing a square. Make sure the sides of the square are equal.

Next, draw two more squares on the sides of the first square, making sure the sides are equal in length and width. Connect the corners of the first square with the corners of the two squares you just drew. Now, draw two lines from the middle of each side of the first square to the middle of the two squares you just drew. This will create a box shape. Next, draw two lines down the middle of the four sides of the box. This will create four triangles. Draw two lines pointing outward from the middle of the triangles, making sure the lines are parallel. This will create four rectangles. To complete the box, draw lines connecting the corners of the rectangle. Once that’s done, add a bow on the top to finish the look.

Step 32: Add More Gifts

Step 32: Add More Gifts
Step 32 of Drawing Santa Claus with gifts

In this step, we'll add gifts to Santa's bag to make it look more festive. You can draw various shapes to represent the gifts, such as rectangles, squares, or circles.

To construct the illusion of depth, you can vary the size and position of the gifts within the bag. Remember to add some ribbons or bows for extra detail.

Once you're happy with the arrangement, you can shade the gifts to make them stand out.

Use a darker pen or pencil to finalize the drawing, review the lines you want to keep, and make any necessary adjustments. Be sure to erase any rough lines that you no longer need. This will give your drawing a clean, finished look.

Take a step back and admire your work.
